Residential Carpet Cleaning FAQs
How long will it take to clean my carpet?
The short answer is AS LONG AS IT TAKES!
The longer answer is that all of our technicians follow the same steps, procedures, and processes to ensure proper cleaning. These procedures with sight tubes, dictate, how many passes are required to thoroughly flush out soils, spots, and spills.
How often should I have my carpets cleaned?
Although there are many factors such as: allergens, regular cleaning, high traffic, and family pets, we suggest having carpets cleaned every 6 months to 1 year. Once we have cleaned your carpeting, we can suggest a regular maintenace plan.
Do you move furniture?
In our experience and feedback from customers, our focus and energy is primarily on cleaning the areas that see high or regular foot traffic and soiling. We assure you that we will clean all areas that our Proprietary Tool can reach.
This service can be added on to your cleaning program for an additional fee.
How long should I stay out of the rooms being cleaned?
We suggest limiting traffic to the areas being cleaned while the process is being performed and until the carpet is thoroughly dried.
Of course, if you want to watch the process and see the dirt being removed through our sight tube those arrangements can be made with our technicians.
How long will it take to dry?
Drying times depend on the soil load and whether a maintenance cleaning or a complete restoration clean was required. This could be anywhere from 4 to 6 hours upwards of 10 to 12 hours with a complete restoration clean. Temperature and humidity may vary the drying time. In all conditions box fans, ceiling fans & air movers all will help in the evaporation process.
Do I need to vacuum before you come?
No. While we always recommend a regular cleaning program to reduce soiling and wear, our technicians will use a commercial grade CRI Certified HEPA vacuum prior to cleaning your carpets the day of your appointment.
Do you steam clean the carpet?
No, we use a process called hot water extraction.
Hot Water Extraction is a method of cleaning carpet utilizing a combination of hot water and cleaning agents being injected into the fibers at high pressure to flush out soils, spots, and spills using a powerful commercial vacuum system.
Actual “steam” is not present at the carpet fibers as this method is not recommended by the manufacturers.
What makes Buckeye different than Stanley Steemer?
“See what clean means” is a slogan we use to describe our whole cleaning process from start to finish. Our advanced cleaning process includes pre-vacuuming with a Certified Hepa Filtered Vacuum, agitation of carpet fibers for maximum soil removal, and use of our state-of-the-art Proprietary Tool which allows us to see the soil being extracted as we are cleaning.
This allows our technicians to focus on heavily soiled areas to achieve a deeper, more thorough clean in high traffic areas and gives us the ability to address spots that need additional attention.
Our technicians are able to share with you what they are seeing and guide you to necessary steps to get the results you are looking for.
